Anchor Point Children
At Anchor Point, our goal is to partner with parents to help them lead their children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A ship anchored on three points is more secure in a storm than a ship secured to only one. As we look at helping children grow, we look to the Bible to see how Jesus grew. Luke 2:52 tells us that, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God (faith) and man (friendship).” That is why our “Anchor Point” messages always reinforce the following truths:
Wisdom: I can make the wise choice
Faith: I can trust God no matter what.
Friendship: I should trust others the way I want to be treated.
Age-appropriate small groups begin each Sunday morning, followed by a common worship and Bible story environment complete with actors and storytellers on the Anchor Point main stage. Then its back to small groups for activities specifically designed to reinforce and apply what was learned in the day’s Bible story. Learn more at SOCparents.com!
First Look (Birth to Pre-K)
In preparing toddlers for our grade school environments, we begin with three simple, yet profoundly important “Anchor Points.”
God made me. (Psalm 139: 13-14)
God loves me. (Romans 8: 38-39)
Jesus wants to be my friend forever. (John 3:16)
Whether through worship, crafts, or while rocking in a nursery chair, every activity in our pre-school, toddler, and nursery environments is intentional and focused on reinforcing these truths. Specific weekly lessons for 3 and 4 year olds begin the process of connecting these truths to Bible stories about characters like David, Jonathan, Ruth & Naomi, Saul, and Jesus and his disciples.
Parents receive monthly “Parent Talk” cards to facilitate the continuation of these conversations at home. Be sure to get yours!
