Care
The Care Ministry at Shannon Oaks Church exists to bring care to those in need. We believe that the church is not a building or a service, but the people of God showing the love of God in every aspect of their lives. The care ministry was created not as a way to fill all of the needs for the church, but to help mobilize the church to show the love of God through caring for those in need. We do this through three areas:
LISTENING - We act as a contact point where people can present their needs. We then try to figure out the best way to get the word to the church so they can help.
INFORMING – We employ an electronic care calendar that allows anyone to easily locate the names of individuals who have needs and how to best fill those needs.
PAIRING – We believe that God has gifted us in special ways. Although we are all called to help those in need, some needs lend themselves better to our individual gifts. We provide a place for you to tell us ways you would like to help so that we can inform you if that particular need arises. Pairing also allows us to have people we can call on if a sudden need comes up.
Our mission at Shannon Oaks Church is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe one of the best ways to accomplish this kind of growth is to do as Jesus did and help those in need. It is our heartfelt intent to help you do just that.
